A few minutes ago I read about Cliff Young, who at 61 years of age, participated in 1983s Sydney to Melbourne race. Considered to be the worlds toughest race, with the distance of 875 kilometers and took at least 6 to 7 days to finish. He finished the 875-kilometre race in 5 days, 15 hours and 4 minutes. At age 61, Cliff took first place in the race, breaking the race record by 9 hours. That’s a man who thinks big.

I am constantly reminded that nothing is impossible. I know you can have, do, or be anything you can imagine. That’s the subject of the first self help program that dared me to dream bigger, titled “Live with Passion.” And since then, has been for the most part, how I live my life.

Dream bigger. I love the idea that nothing is too far out of reach. I love to read stories about people who “set impossible” goals and then achieve them. Whether it’s Neil Strauss-going from complete geek to pick up God, Chuck Wepner, an unknown 30-to-1 underdog, going 15 rounds with the world heavyweight champ Muhammad Ali, or a 61 year old man running for almost 6 straight days to take first place in a race filled with men half his age. All these stories prove we have no limits. None.

As I’ve discussed in The Success Principles, we have no limits, we only have our own mental barriers and limiting mindsets. Tony Robbins, in Live with Passion, declares, “The only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment.”

For example, I am currently reading Tim Ferriss’s book The Four Hour Work Week, and am continually inspired by the countless true stories of depressed, overworked, men and women, escaping the rat race to earn a healthy income living out their dreams all over the globe.

For example, Ferriss, author of the book, still under 30 years old, has founded a successful internet based supplement company, written a bestselling book, won national contests in tango dancing and kick boxing, speaks over 7 languages, and has traveled much of the world. That is a guy who sees no limits in what he can achieve.

Here is another example:

Although J.K. Rowling is best known for her fantasy books on Harry Potter. Her own life is a bit of a fantasy. Rowling progressed from being diagnosed clinically depressed and living on welfare to multi-millionaire status within five years. With a fortune of over 1 billion dollars she is now the 12th riches woman in Britain. How is that for making a late life change?

Most of us just don’t dream big enough. Not even close. To help stretch your mind and get excited about the limitless possibilities in life listen to Live with Passion by Tony Robbins.

Robbins explains that how we deal with our current state is what defines our reality. If we associate negative feelings to the idea of expanding our reality through higher achievement… we will never undertake anything that challenges us.

With all this in mind, what do you want to accomplish from studying this material? What is your impossible dream? What would you want if you knew you could not fail? Whatever it is, take the time to write it down now.
