One of the worst pollutants that is affecting our planet right now is smoke. Smoke from cars, smoke from industries, smoke from fires, and smoke from tobacco. Some are more significant than others, but all of them contribute to the nastiness in the air that we breathe. Some of these sources of smoke are believed to be changing the climate of our world. This is in turn supposedly causing several species of animals to become endangered, humans among them.

Could it really be true that we are endangering our own survival because of the way we are polluting the air with certain types of smoke and are causing the temperature of our atmosphere to rise too quickly? Many scientists and environmentalists think so. There have been many studies done concerning global warming and they are still being done even now. Some people are very skeptical as to whether the human race is a big of a contributing factor as some would suggest and others believe the entire idea is hogwash.

So what should the average person believe about the studies that have been done? Should we believe the cynics who say that the warming the planet is experiencing is only a natural cycle that has occurred many times for our planet or the ones who say we are having a definite impact with all our pollution? What we should really be asking is what if it is our fault for a large part and we sit back as individuals and allow it to happen?

Would we not feel really bad if we allow the polluting smoke to continue and destroy our planet when with some drastic changes in the way we pollute could have altered the outcome? It seems it would be the wisest course of action if we went ahead and take every precaution we can to ensure that we will not be responsible for the eventual death of our planet.

The polar ice caps are melting at an alarming rate and no one can deny that. The question is are we causing it and if we are, is it too late for us to do anything about it. It could be that the situation has gone too far for us to be able to change the outcome. It is thought that the Polar bears will be extinct before many more years before their hunting grounds are by and large the ice that is melting. We fear that sea levels will rise and cities along coastal regions will disappear. This scenario alone should be enough reason for us to begin making the changes necessary in the amount of air pollution and emissions of carbon substances that we are releasing. Even if it turns out that we were not the cause of a warming planet, it will at least be a cleaner one.
