How to Use Video to Promote Your Music

Video can be a powerful tool in marketing your music. It can bring traffic to your web site and it can increase your exposure. You can use sites like YouTube and Viddler to post videos of your music with backlinks to your site. Use this method to market your music, your web site, yourself or your CD. The beauty of this is that you can pay as much or as little as you can afford and still get decent play out of the video. Even heavy hitters like Papa Roach and even The Rolling Stones have candid type video that they shoot at their concerts and the fans go nuts for it.

You can certainly produce that type of video and reach your fans as well. All it takes is a little marketing know how and some creativity for you to promote your music by using video.

1. Find a song

The first thing that you want to do is find the appropriate song. Ideally, it should be catchy and something that people can remember. Think about the songs that you hear on the radio that make you turn up the volume and sing along. That is the quality that you want to have in the song you create for your video.

2. Decide on your theme

Once you have the song, decide on the theme of the video. Do you want to shoot in a studio? Do you want to shoot outside? Do you want a mini movie that goes along with your song or do you want something more abstract? Think about where you would like for your video to take the people who view it and what type of impression do you want to leave?

3. Do it yourself or pro?

Of course, if you are in a tight budget, hiring a pro to do your video may not be an option. If that is the case, at least try to find someone who has done some videograpy so that you can get a good looking video. If you go with a pro, you will know that it will have the quality that you want and it wont look cheap. The key is deciding what you can afford. You can produce your own good looking video on a shoestring budget.

4. Make the video

If you make your own video, there are many things you need to keep in mind. One thing you should consider is laying a separate track for the audio, especially if you are shooting outside. The wind can destroy your sound and when you watch the video, all you will hear is the wind blowing. If your audio is on a separate track, you can edit later and line up your audio with video. Lighting is also important. Remember that is the light is shining behind you, toward the camera, you will be in shadow. If it is directly overhead, you will likely get a glare.

5. Edit for content

It is highly unlikely that you will get a perfect video on just one take. This is another instance where it benefits you to have a separate audio track. Edit your video so that it is seamless and looks top notch. You can down load several free or inexpensive video editors from the internet.

6. Send it to the masses!

Put your completed video on YouTube and other video sites, as well as your MySpace band page so that people can find you. Tag it with some good keywords and promote your video everywhere you can. You can also send your video through email. If it is well tagged, though, and is on YouTube, chances are it will get hits and you will get exposure. Make sure that people who view your video know where to find you on your MySpace or website. After all, that is the goal, to bring your fans to you.

Ipod Car Adapters Make It Easier To Bring Enjoyment To The Road

Radio stations have long claimed to play the most variety and the biggest hits, but what if they aren’t your hits and you hate their variety?

Maybe you actually can find a radio station that plays music you like on a trip. At some point you will leave their signal area and when you do you will generally venture off to find some other audio signal that might amuse you for a while.

You might even have satellite radio in your vehicle, but there’s still something missing, isn’t there?

No matter how many choices you have there hasn’t been a singular choice that allows you to listen to the exact music you want, on demand. Yes, there are CD’s, but even they don’t provide the variety you might want. What you need is your own radio station.

Perhaps it was an effort to quell civil unrest, but Apple, the makers of iPod have provided the answer to your quest for on demand music. The iPod has been well accepted for personal listening, but with car adapter kits you can now share your personal on demand world with your family and friends. You might even want to simply enjoy your “music mix” by yourself.

Some newer vehicles feature built in docking stations for your iPod, but you can take the innovation of iPod mobile even if your car is thirty years old. Essentially you can have a fully functional stereo in the palm of your hand, all you really need is the means to direct your music through your car speakers. This is what a car adapter kit can do for you.

The development of the iPod has allowed consumers to place hundreds of songs on these handheld devices. No more will commuters need to listen to the same songs every two hours. Now they can listen all day long and never hear a song repeated. They can even mix country and rock or classical and oldies. They get to program their own on board radio station, even if they only like music performed by one artist.

One of the popular car accessories for the iPod is the onboard charger. If you spend a lot of time on the road it can be important to keep the incredibly portable iPod fully charged.

The means for listening to your iPod is found in an adapter that transmits the audio from your iPod via an ultra low-powered FM signal. In other words you will actually listen to your iPod via your FM radio. We also recommend built in adapters for ultra high clarity audio performance.

Different manufacturers rely on slightly different functionality and you may find that one company has a product that is better suited to your needs than another. Be sure to check for compatibility issues and then take your iPod music with you.

Because we live in an on demand world it is clear that consumers want to gain the greatest control over what they hear, and that includes their vehicle.

Ipod Car Accessories Allow You To Bring Your Favorite Music On The Road

Maybe you remember what it was like to roll down the windows of your favorite muscle car and crank up the radio listening to music that “motivated” you in ways that generally meant applying extra pressure to the gas pedal.

We all have a strong emotional attachment to music. It could be music that was introduced to us by family members or an almost inner calling to a certain music style that seemed to speak to our very souls from the moment we first heard it.

Is it any wonder we see so many individuals with iPod ear buds nestled inside the ear being whisked away to a place of sensory expanding joy?

Private reception has been the primary means of musical enjoyment via the iPod. These were meant for personal fulfillment, yet there are times that joy must be shared.

Accessories have been made to allow the iPod to be played in the home, but the need for portability has been taken into consideration in the form of car adapter kits that allow music lovers to share their musical buffet with others.

We’ve all become very used to hitting that scan button on the radio. We do this because we rest in the hope that someone in the radio world will be playing a song we actually enjoy. A commercial comes on and we change the station, a song is played that we swore we heard five minutes before and we change the station - we get tired of a song and we put in a CD until we get bored.

Either we are a very unhappy group of people or we’ve simply been waiting for the right answer. That answer may well be the portability of our own personally programmed radio station. We choose every song placed on our iPods. We can shuffle the music or have it play in a very specific order. The point is every choice is ours and we never have to suffer through repeats unless we want to.

Those who exercise often have iPods strapped to their arms, students listen to them privately in the school bus and parents listen while working on the computer. We have become a culture that loves music delivered in a way that fosters memories, evokes positive feelings and allows us to enjoy our daily life journey.

There is no reason this idea can’t make the jump to your personal mode of transportation.

When you go out for a night on the town you accessorize your attire. When the holidays come around you accessorize your home. When you watch too many home improvement shows you accessorize your garage. Doesn’t it make sense to accessorize your vehicle when it allows you to find positive emotional connections to the music you love especially in long commutes or distance traveling?

Accessorize and bring your favorite bands on the road - Enjoy your music to the best of your ability.

Learn How To Play Lead Guitar

Warning! Many students have started to learn lead guitar, and had their practices actually do more harm than good by initially developing bad habits with improper practice procedures. Do not even start trying to learn lead guitar until you have looked at these choices.

There are a small handful of things you must have in place and utilize if you want to learn lead guitar. The very first item you need to look at is your guitar pick. To learn lead guitar effectively, requires choosing the correct pick or picks. When I first Began to learn lead guitar, I used a picked called a stylus pick. The Stylus pick is a lead guitar training pick. The Stylus Pick was developed by a Shred Guitar trainer at the Berklee School of Music. While you learn lead guitar, it is very important that you develop your right hand motion as to not dip your pick more than 1/8 below the strings. The Stylus Pick keeps you from doing this. Note also, that the stylus training pick is just for training you with alternate picking, which is probably one of the most popular styles of picking that students begin with when they learn lead guitar.

After getting your picking speed up utilizing the Stylus Training pick, you will then want to move on to a very thick pick that also has a glossy finish. Never try to learn lead guitar, and gain any speed using a thin pick. It will not work. I use a pick called the Big Stubby for my everyday use, but I do still use the Stylus pick for warming up, and occasional practice sessions just to keep my alternate picking form.

The next choice to consider when you want to learn Lead Guitar is your guitar. All of the Ibanez guitars are specifically designed with a flat, shallow, and unpainted neck. This design allows you while you learn lead guitar to develop a great deal of speed. Most students when they learn lead guitar really want to master the art of shred guitar also.

If you do have an interest in developing your self as a shred guitarist, you will really want to look at the various forms of distortion that are available to you. The absolute best form of distortion to use as you learn lead guitar, and master shred guitar is found on the Line 6 amps. The Line 6 amps have a setting called Insane Go to a music store, plug an Ibanez guitar into a Line 6 amp, and give it a try. You will love the feel.

I have seen many guitar students as they learn lead guitar develop some terrible habits that took them years to break, and in some cases, were never able to break. To properly learn lead guitar especially to get to the level of shred guitar requires a scientific and systematic approach. You have to understand things such as how speed actually works, the three types of motion, and how to do the right exercises at the right time, just to name a few. Before you begin to learn lead guitar, get your basic tools in place such as the correct picks, a guitar you are comfortable with, and a systematic training system that will give you a handful of daily systematic training exercises and will allow you to make quantitative scientific measurements of your speed and right hand left hand coordination.

When you begin to learn lead guitar, you must take an almost robotic scientific approach from the very beginning. I have seen young students armed with the correct tools master lead guitar, and even become outstanding shred guitar players in a very short period of time.

There are very few things in life more self gratifying than the journey one takes to Learn Lead Guitar under the outline of Shred Guitar.

The Distinctive Jazz Piano Styles Of McCoy Tyner

Alfred McCoy Tyrner, better known by the last two words of his full name - McCoy Tyner, was both on the 11th of December, 1938. His mother pushed him towards his love for the piano, by sending him for piano classes when he was 13 years old. The piano classes got him hooked to the instrument in a couple of years by the time he turned 15. His early inspiration came from the playing of Bud Powell with whom he was neighbors. His playing was distinguished from the other sounds that people have drawn out of the piano.

He had a very distinctive way of playing the bass notes with his left hand, which he positioned higher than the normal posture of piano playing allowed him to so that he could lay heavy emphasis on the notes that he played with that hand. His right hand’s style of playing too had a similar catch -the staccatos and arpeggios that he played with his right hand contributed to this unique sound of playing. These two factors and his method of chord voicing, which has a heavy usage of fourth notes, set him apart from many jazz pianists during his career of 46 and running years.

He got his first steady gig with Jazztet in 1960 in which he played with Benny Golson. He left that group the same year and joined John Coltrane’s group. But this was not the first time that he was associated with Coltrane. He and Coltrane both played together earlier on McCoys’s original composition - The Believer. He was a part of the group’s release - My Favorite Things.

The following four years, he toured with the John Coltrane Quartet which featured Coltrane himself on tenor saxophone, Jimmy Garrison on bass and Elvin Jones on the drums in addition to McCoy himself in piano. The band had a lot of success and has a number of releases which did very well including Ballads, Life at The Village Vanguard, Crescent, The Jon Coltrane Quartet Plays, and Live at Birdland which they recorded for Impulse! Records.

Apart from playing for the John Coltrane Quartet, he also has a solo career on with a number of piano trio releases under the same label - the first of which was the 1962 release Inception. He was sideman on quite a few albums under the Blue Note Records. After leaving the John Coltrane Quartet, he had a three year stint with Blue Note Records for whom he recorded a number of post bop albums - The Real McCoy, Tender Moments, Expansions and Extensions - during the four years (67′ - 70′) that he was with Blue Note.

His next label was Milestone Records with whom he recorded a number of albums that he recorded with flute player Hubert Laws and Billy Colham on the drums. Some of their albums that this period of recording produced were Sahara, Enlightenment and Fly With The Wind. The shift in music that he made was a very obvious to the ear move to include music influenced by African and Asian forms of music in his compositions. This warranted for a wider variety of instruments that McCoy used and which he played himself - the koto (a 13th Japanese string instrument), the flute and percussion.

This was one of the first movements in jazz music to move towards a new freer form. This was not categorized as free jazz or fusion jazz. It was something else in the making. One of McCoy’s 1975 releases had him play two other instruments that were used very rarely in jazz music to date - the harpsichord and the celeste. The 80’s and the 90’s saw him touring and recording extensively with bass player Avery Sharpe and Aaron Scott who played the drums.

He had an extended run with Blue Note Records for which he recorded more albums for in the late 80’s and early 90’s. McCoy is still active recording and touring with different musicians recording for Telarc Records.

He was made a Jazz Master by the National Endowment for the Arts in 2002. He has had two releases in 2007 - Quarter and Afro Blue.

Mandy Moore Tickets - Singer, Actress, and Woman: Avoiding the Pitfalls of Fame

Looking through the concert tickets that are available online, and thinking back through the news that has been aired over the past year some questions come to mind: What is it that drives a select few into the world of stardom? And what is it that brings a few young stars international fame that leads to public disgrace? And how do some young stars avoid the destruction that comes from becoming famous when they are young? These are not new questions, they are ones that people have been asking ever since young stars began to go through struggles as they got ready to leave teen status behind them. So what is the answer? Somehow fame seems to come with a price.

One era that is famous for generating breakdowns in the stars that it produced is the ’90s. Looking at stars such as Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan you cannot help but wonder what exactly it is that keeps some stars on top and drops others to the bottom. But there are a few who have managed to maintain their pop status and move seamlessly, and sometimes even more successfully, into adulthood. One of these is Mandy Moore, who began her career in entertainment when she was only 15.

Coming to the light around the same time as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and others, Mandy Moore has grown into a woman under the noses of the general public, and seemingly without so much as a glimmer of scandal. Although the actress/singer has not kept her struggles with depression a secret, she has certainly not been subject to much of the celebrity gossip that has plagued the lives of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and others.

Mandy Moore has been heard to say that she thinks that her early music was definitely not very good, and those who have seen some of her early music videos they are not the best out there. However, one positive thing about those albums and videos is that they do not give much of a definition of Mandy Moore as an artist. This provided her with the opportunity to create her own persona when she got older, and gave her the opportunity to do what most artists are not able to do…define her own persona. With artists like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson struggling to get out of a strictly defined persona that they were given during their teen years, Mandy Moore created the persona that she wanted when she was ready.

So what is the secret to avoiding the pitfalls that come with childhood fame? It seems that there are a few things that help: staying under the radar as far as your personal life is concerned, keeping your professional personality loosely defined and not rising to the top early on. So what do you get when you buy Mandy Moore tickets? A chance to see a star the way she wants to be seen. The struggles that Mandy Moore has been seen to go through do not seem to be any different from the average person, apart from the fact that she is a famous star. When you compare her struggles with depression with the incredible and over-publicized dramas of Britney Spears life, she seems almost like a normal person.

Tips To Help You Learn Lead Guitar

To learn lead guitar begins with Knowing where to start. When a student wants to learn lead guitar, the best places to start is by first practicing scales, patterns, and right hand left hand coordination. Ultimately to learn lead guitar you will want to become highly familiar with the fret board from a music theory point of view.

When you learn lead guitar, I can not stress enough the importance of working to master patterns and scales. There is a box set available for fret board training called Fret board Logic. This box set will shave years of lessons and practice off of you, and help you master the fret board with very little effort, and very quickly. As a student that wants to learn lead guitar, you will also most likely look at getting speed. Most of my students that come to me to learn lead guitar, have a very strong desire to master the art of becoming a shred guitar player.

Shred guitar is a style of lead guitar playing that utilizes various forms of picking and motion to create a very fast style of playing. When you learn lead guitar, it is imperative that you master right hand left hand coordination. Right hand left hand coordination is accomplished through variations of exercises and techniques specifically designed to increase your coordination along with your speed. If you want to learn lead guitar, it is imperative even if you have a good teacher and or coach, that you also have a system in which you have a systematic measurable approach with specific drills to practice with on a daily basis that will measure your advancement as you learn lead guitar.

Also you must learn concepts such as how guitar speed really works, picking strategies, and types of motion. Also as you learn lead guitar, you need to focus on simple but effective drills. Focus on different types of Fingering and Phrasing (e.g scales, patterns, chromatic, etc.) Another form of practice to utilize as you learn lead guitar is practicing along with other musicians. I have found that one of the best methods for this is by utilizing what is known as backing tracks and or Jam Trax. Backing tracks are simply recorded tracks of other musicians playing noted rhythm tracks that allow you as the lead guitarist to practice along with them.

When you purchase the tracks, they will typically give you the key that each backing track on the cd is in, and you just practice playing lead guitar over the tracks. This is actually a much more effective way to learn lead guitar than by playing with other musicians. The reason for this is that when you practice with other musicians, quite often the musicians you are practicing with are not well developed, and can actually mess your practice session up because you began to get used to practicing with say a drummer that cant keep good timing.

You can Google the term backing tracks or Jam trax and you will find a ton of web sites out there where you can purchase these backing trax for a very low price, and most of these sites offer immediate downloads. Also while you learn lead guitar, the absolute most important part is that you get maximum benefit from every single minute of practice, this requires utilizing an Ideal Speed Curve. Training while in the Ideal Speed curve ensures you always train “in the zone. Training in the zone will make every practice, and every minute of practice count. I hope this information helps you to get a good start as you learn lead guitar.

Mass Music Promotion On a Shoestring

Music Promotion pure and simple is a numbers game. It is just like the promotion of any business service and or product. The trick is mass promotion. When I say mass promotion, I am talking about the ability to submit your music to hundreds even a thousand different sources. Sources include ezines, music magazines, internet radio stations, music web sites, music blogs, I mean everywhere.

Weather you are operating as just an independent artist or a small indie label working with artists out of your basement, mass music promotion is your key to creating income. The key to the success of any product is being able to generate income, and until you submit and expose expose your product to the masses, income will never began to flow in. Music especially requires massive amounts of exposure to start a buzz, and eventually start an income stream.

You as a independent label, and or a self promoting artist or musician can individually and manually submit your material to hundreds and a thousand different resources, but trust me, that can take forever. Even some indie labels that submit their material to several different resources themselves, will typically also acquire the services of companies that just specialize in submissions. There are companies out there that for a small fee, some packages starting under ten dollars, will submit artists music to like one thousand different resources including radio station, musician related blogs, ezines, and web sites.

There is no better thrill than having a site where you sell your cd’s, and running a week long grass roots cheap mass exposure campaign, and seeing cd sales start slowly generating cash. This also allows you to take the even small amounts of initial cash earned from cd sales, and re-invest into more and more promotion. This is essentially how the game is won. You invest small amounts in the mass promotion of your product, and continually reinvest your profits to increase sales. Then the first time you have a meeting with a record label owner, you are able to take your reports showing your gradual increase in CD sales over a period of time. Talk about having a label eating out of your hand.

There are many outlets available for independent artists, and independent record labels to mass submit and mass promote their material. Do your research, find what works best for you and your budget. I have always been limited by a small shoestring budget, but if you have lareg sums of cash to invest, then you really need to do extensive research before making any large investments.

You also need to remember that before you spend any money on promotion, you must have a sales channel available where consumers can purchase your product. there is nothing that is a bigger waste of money than promoting a product with no way for a consumer to purchase it. I have seen so many small players promote, market, and submit with no way for consumers that like the product to purchase it.

A Vampiric Song That Rocks

Last September, MTV News brought you the exclusive that Paramore would be contributing a pair of songs to the soundtrack of the upcoming “Twilight” film, including the first single from the album, a spiky little slab of vampire lust called “Decode.”

On Wednesday (October 1), “Decode” premiered on “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer’s official Web site, making it the first bit of new music to be heard from the soundtrack. The post on also says that the soundtrack’s release has been pushed back to November 4, from the previously reported October 28 date.

The title deacode is based upon the storyline because bella’s mind is the only one edward cant read, edward upon realizing this gained such interest on bella. An interest which ended up to love and obsession, bella on the other hand also got intrigued by edwards identity and found out things she ought to not know. Now she lead herself to a world where no other humans know, a world full of secrets, a world that we all think that doesn’t even exist.

Its about taking chances of what you believe in, sticking to those choices and facing the consequences. Once your in theres no turning back, faith also kicks in, faith to those who you trust, knowing that they wont let you down. Curiosity is a big factor in life, but having the guts to risk is a bigger factor.

“The song is about the building tension, awkwardness, anger and confusion between Bella and Edward,” Paramore frontwoman (and “Twilight” fan) Hayley Williams said in a statement. “Bella is the only mind Edward can’t read, and I feel like that’s a big part of the first book and one of the obstacles for them to overcome. It’s one added tension that makes the story even better.”

Making a good combinations of music, video, story, would mean another great block buster hit for the masses. I also reckon that the actors were shocked of how the people reacted to the movie, because none of them thought that it would turn out so overwhelming, they even thought they were just making an indie film.

Lots of fans agreed that paramore did a great job and they have to admit that the song blended well with the movie, it surpassed expectations. Although the first reactions to the news were expectations of disappointment, paramore proved them wrong and presented this hot rocking vampiric song.

Paramore on the other hand have their song on top 100, and a few credits for a their good job well done. Their song proved to be the best one to fit the movie, lots of fans digged it. And i have to say that their contribution to the movie gained them more popularity,Im also anticipating their participation upon the future sequels of the twilight movie.

Feel free to visit the authors site where you can find compilations of different songs videos and lyricsSong Lyrics. Thank You
