How to Achieve Online Business Success with Article Marketing

Article marketing isn’t for everyone. A full campaign takes commitment and determination. A failed article marketing campaign is one that wasn’t properly orchestrated.

Marketing your business starts with you. You’re the expert, start sharing your expertise with potential customers. You don’t need flashy ads or celebrity spokespersons to generate a lucrative income.

Information Sharing

The first step of an article marketing campaign is writing. Some article directories publish all articles, no matter the content. High quality content will be published by equally high quality article directories.

In 2007 75% of consumers consulted search engines before making a purchase. Shopping online or offline wasn’t a factor in where they received their information. People like to make informed decisions and smart purchases.

An article marketing campaign gives business owners the opportunity to share information about the products or services they sell. Articles submitted to article directories must not be full of spam or sales pitches. Save sales information for the author resource box at the end of the article.

People buy products from companies they trust. Articles help build a relationship of trust based primarily on the information you provide.

Article length is very important. People are busy with families and careers. They don’t have time to be stuck to an article full of fluff. A great amount of information can be transferred in a 500-word article.

Distribute Your Articles

Distribution is the second step of an article marketing campaign. Article directories are chock full of great information from business owners looking to make a sale. Consumers are directed to article directories based on keywords they search on search engines.

Article directories break broad categories down into niche categories. This breakdown allows more precise information flow to highly targeted readers. Share valuable product information with your target reader, not sales pitches.

Article directories often have a readership of thousands of readers per day. Traffic generated from article directories is considered highly targeted due to the amount of time people spend searching for information.

Market Your Articles

Articles receive a small amount of traffic on their own credentials. Making the most of an article marketing campaign must include additional marketing techniques. Increased readers mean increased traffic and sales.

Include links to your articles in newsletters. Newsletters are an incredible way to share information with people who join your e-mail mailing list. Use a short paragraph from your article to create curiosity then provide a link to the full article.

Link your articles on social networking websites. Social networking has taken internet marketing by storm. Social bookmarks and community websites are great places to link directly to your articles.

Link your articles in e-mail, forum and blog signatures. Forum moderators usually allow links in member signatures. Link directly to your website and to one or two of your articles for more information.

Article Marketing Unlocks Success

Consumers enjoy making informed purchases. The majority of consumers look for information online before making a purchase. Articles allow business owners the opportunity to inform potential customers and build relationships with them.

Information shared in articles is meant to give consumers the idea that they need to make a purchase. Articles should never be looked at in the same way as land sharks.

Five Ways Article Marketing Helps Your Business Website

Many business owners find online success difficult to achieve. This difficulty often spills over into other aspects of their business and hinders their ability to achieve success of any level. Article marketing is the key many business owners overlook.

White-hat marketing techniques include link building and proper use of keywords in marketing. Article marketing meets those requirements, making it the best white-hat marketing method.

Content Hungry Webmasters

New niche websites are being created on a daily basis. Each of those webmasters need content and often search for free content from a variety of places. Article directories are excellent places for webmasters to get high quality content.

Article Directories

Article distribution includes submission to many article directories, newsletters and blogs. Article directories act as informational sites powered by authors involved in article marketing. Most directories allow webmasters to copy articles and use them as content for their website.

Webmasters that copy content from article directories must keep the author information intact. Most directories allow syndication only if the webmaster links to their directory as well as to the author’s website. Syndication through many webmasters creates new, relevant links to your website.

Information for Consumers

Consumers buy products based on the information they receive from others. Article marketing provides a way for business owners to express themselves as experts in their field. Sharing product knowledge and making recommendations is not the same as spam.

Articles are an excellent way to pre-sell products or services to consumers looking to make a purchase. During the distribution process your articles are published to several online article directories. Consumers actively looking for the information you provide will be directed to your website from the articles you publish.

Backlinks

Backlinks act as online traffic signs pointing the way to your web business. The more backlinks you have, the more likely potential customers are to find your website. Link popularity is one of the ways search engines rank pages.

Article marketing builds backlinks naturally. Each article published creates a relevant link back to your website by way of the author resource box. Relevant links are more effective than non-relevant links in raising page rank.

Increase Page Rank

Page rank is calculated in a variety of ways. Link popularity is only one of the positive aspects of a successful article marketing campaign. Article marketing helps brand your business based on keywords that consumers use every day to find products and services you sell.

Article Marketing Promotes Sales

The five previously mentioned ways article marketing helps your business may be tied together to create a full sales promotion package. Inexpensive marketing means you’ll have more money to invest in other types of marketing or other areas of your business.

A fully functional article marketing campaign increases page rank and traffic. It promotes you as an expert in your field who enjoys sharing information with consumers. The articles you write build relationships with people looking to make a purchase.

Most consumers head to their favorite search engine before making a purchase. Article marketing ensures your website is one of the places they find information they seek.

Article Marketing Drives Highly Targeted Visitors to Your Business Website

As every successful webmaster knows, driving qualified traffic to your website is the key factor to online business success. A successful article marketing campaign is the best way to drive targeted traffic to the products you sell.

Article marketing is the easiest and least expensive marketing method. More traffic is only three simple steps away: write, publish and market.

High Quality Articles

Everyone knows content is king. High quality content is often difficult to find. New freelance writers are a dime a dozen and often publish grammatical errors and misspelled words in their haste to be seen.

High quality articles do more than look good in print. They’re very informative without adding too much fluff. They are factual and build a relationship of trust with the reader.

Where to Find Articles

Write Your Own: The cheapest alternative is to write your own articles. Writing down your product knowledge isn’t usually a difficult task. Don’t give up on article marketing if you don’t feel you can write articles on your own. Look for other alternatives.

PLR Articles: Private Label Rights (PLR) articles are usually inexpensive and can be found nearly anywhere online. Some free PLR packages are included with purchases.

Rewrite Other Content: Find articles you like and rewrite them so they’re at least 80 percent different from the original. Rewriting is simple and not very time consuming.

Spinning Software: Certain pieces of software allow you to use one article to create different variations that may be used as separate articles. While not always perfect, these pieces of software can save a lot of time as long as you edit the finished product.

Writing Services: Order professionally written articles from a writing service. Most writing services provide excellent service and content at minimal cost.

Carefully Tailored Author Resource Box

The author resource box is one of the most important parts of your article. It’s where the magic happens. The article itself shared information about a product or service; the author resource box finishes the sale and directs traffic to your website.

The author resource box serves more than one purpose. In addition to directing traffic to close the sale, it creates a backlink to your website. Relevant links contribute to link popularity and cause an increase in page rank.

Article Distribution

Article distribution may be done manually or through a distribution service. Distribution services charge a small fee compared to the amount of time and money they save. Most paid distribution services have thousands of potential recipients on their distribution list.

More articles distributed to more publishers mean a higher increase in qualified readers and traffic. Qualified traffic is traffic that has been pre-sold and is actively looking to make a purchase. Articles put your information in front of hundreds of readers per day.

Manual article submission does take time but is well worth the effort if your marketing budget doesn’t allow room for a paid distribution service. Publish your articles with several directories and keep an eye out for directories with mid-to-high page rank.

Internet Marketing: The Brutal Truth

Today there are tons of people talking about how easy it is to make money with internet marketing. There are companies claiming that their product can have you earning money as an internet marketer in no time at all. They promise rewards for almost no effort, and have no reservations about making exaggerated claims of bringing in thousands of dollars a day for only a few hours of work.

It is entirely possible to make money, substantial money even, through internet marketing but it is not going to happen without some effort on your part. You do not have to be the one who writes out every single article or produces every piece of content for your website but you can count on the fact that somebody will have to do it if you want your website to become a recurring source of income.

There are all kinds of ways to make money through internet marketing. There are strategies like article marketing, as well as blogging, and even methods for using social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook to generate revenue as an internet marketer. Which method works best is going to depend on your personal strengths and what appeals to you.

Regardless of what method you choose, pick one and work at it. The internet is teeming with information on how to succeed at internet marketing and it can quickly become overwhelming. If you allow yourself to be distracted and pursue too many tactics at the same time you will wind up short changing yourself because you do not have the time to really focus on any one of them. If the first technique you try does not have results after a reasonable effort, switch to another one, but always maintain focus.

It is okay to pay for internet marketing training. There are plenty of experts in the field more than willing to share the solid techniques you need to succeed at a reasonable price. While a lot of the information can be found for free, sometimes the convenience of being able to get feedback and having one source for the information can be worth the cost. Avoid programs that do not focus on marketing techniques or methods for building your business. Also any program worth its salt should offer some kind of satisfaction or money back guarantee. Keep that in mind when you are choosing a training course.

Do not get bogged down trying to think of the perfect idea. Typically there is no “silver bullet” solution to any problem and that definitely includes internet marketing. You do not want to spend your time indecisively going over information trying to find the “perfect” fit for you. Get started by taking action now. Pick a project and work at it. If it does not work out, you can pick another project. The goal is to be doing something. The goal is to take action. Taking some type of action will help you refine your strategy and pick up the skills you need to ultimately make money in internet marketing. Remember to decide on a marketing strategy and focus on it completely.

Using Link Automation to Gain and Keep Return Traffic

With millions of websites currently offering information and many more beginning each day, how is the Internet search engine supposed to find your website over the other one million in your niche? Links are the key and building more backlinks to a website will improve the chance that your URL will be featured on the top page of the search engine. Building these backlinks can take a huge amount of time; even more than one person can manage on their own. Link automation is the solution.

What is Link Automation?

There is very little reference on the Internet to link automation and this could be due to the fact that many people believe automation will hurt a website. On the contrary, link automation works to improve the SERP not hinder it.

Much of the strife surrounding the term “automation” involves the black hat SEO tactics used by companies who promise their clients a number one ranking in Google, or some other search engine, in just a few days. These companies use spam comments and robot article rewriters to push a huge amount of content and links onto the Internet in a short amount of time. Yes, these tactics hurt a website eventually, but link automation does not use these same methods.

Link automation is the process of spreading links throughout the Internet in a safe and effective manner. Article directories like iSnare, for instance, accept promotional articles and pass those article on to other article directories. Users are able to then reprint these articles on their blogs or websites as long as the resource box, with links, is published as well.

While this may seem like a slow method of promotion, let’s take a look at the math involved.

1 Article with 2 Links is published. = 2 Links

That 1 Article with 2 Links is pushed to 9 additional article directories. = 20 Links

On each of those article directories, 10 people choose to republish the 1 Article with 2 Links. = 220 Links

Link automation has grown those initial 2 links to more than 200 links in just a short period of time and this is a very conservative example. Taking the above example into consideration, if link automation was practiced with one article submission every day for a week, the link total could rise to more than 1500 links. Stretch that out to a month and the total links back to your website could number more than 6000.

Link Automation With Software

There are some very smart link building software solutions available. With only 15 minutes of time spent adding your website to the link automation software, your site will soon be building backlinks slowly but surely (the way the search engines like it!)

A “deep” link building software is set up to work with every page of your website and can be implemented in less time than it takes to write one article for an article directory.

Link automation is the solution to that “Not So Great” page rank. Building more links means building more traffic and that means making more money.

Variety in Email Marketing Opt in Posts

Variety is the spice of life–and the spice of your email marketing opt in list. You should ask yourself what is the objective of the email? How can I use them to build my list? Can I use the list to build trust and rapport with my customer relationships? Yes you can! It is all about the emails you send to the list.

Here are some examples of a few different kinds of basic email types:

Content - This is the most basic form of post you will see on an email opt in marketing list. It is just a post with content to the list. You should be sure your content is useful and writing in the language of the information product that you’re selling.

Teaser - This is a pre-sell article that gives you some information on an upcoming info product that will be available to members of the list. This type of post should give a glimpse into the product. Samples of the product can be given here to whet the appetite of the list members.

Promo - By this time, you would have built up the excitement, curiosity, and intrigue surrounding the subject matter. At this point, go for a very simple offer with a sense of urgency or scarcity, as your pre-seling would have been done up front.

Follow-up - These are the posts you send to all those members that bought your product. They are meant to follow up the sale with more personal interaction and the all important trust building.

It is then time to implement your email opt in marketing delivery system. The four emails above make up the sales process. You email the first three to your list once a day. So you build trust with content and personality related mails, and you move from there in terms of promoting helpful offers that flow naturally from this.

This an example of an email delivery system that involves ten emails. The first three are just general content emails related to the chosen niche. The next three articles are special offers and bonuses. These both build the trust of your customer and make them potential buyers. When you follow up with your customers, it shows that you care and creates the kind of rapport you need for repeat business.

Following this strategy, you can easily create a good opt in sales list that will create more sales for you at the time. By using this variety and keeping the communication, promotion, content, and free resources, you will keep your audience engaged, response rates high, lead to amazing profits!

Free Web Traffic - You Won’t Believe It!

Is there such a thing as free web traffic? Absolutely, but you won’t believe how easy it is to achieve! I was always very skeptical of all of these Internet companies that were making a whole lot of promises that ,in the long run, they couldn’t deliver. Until I stumbled across one that actually did work and they weren’t afraid to tell me how they did it. So now I’m telling you.

This story really started a few years ago when I first tried to make money on the Internet. I tried almost every Internet program that promised me quick riches and plenty of free traffic. I found that the only people who made money were the people selling me the programs. I guess they all had good intentions.

That was true until a few months ago when I finally found a system that actually delivered what it promised and that was loads of free traffic, continuously. I will give you the condensed version of how I achieved it.

Firstly I looked for a product to sell, I checked out what were the most popular keywords being used by people on the Internet . I used the Google ‘Insights’ tool to get a few ideas, I put in a keyword and it gave me the latest data on the keyword. I ended up by using the search word ‘tattoo’ to see what would come up, I found a lot of popular keywords that were being used to find ‘chinese letter tattoos’.

I decided to check the competition, so I typed the keyword into google search engine,I looked at the results, millions of sites, I then put some quotations marks around the search term to fine tune the search. The results were only a few thousand sites. Bingo!

I registered a domain name using the keywords. I set up a simple wordpress blog using a specific template. I found a great product to put on the back end of the website. I published keyword rich articles, all of them I published on this site you are reading this article from (I got the hottest keywords from google).

Now if you do a generic search for the keywords I chose, you will find my site on page one of google ,my site is generally listed twice and some of my articles(normally about three) are also on the first page. Same as the Yahoo search engine. Mission accomplished, I’d say.

A New Link Building Technique Sweeping the Web

Link building techniques have been part of the SEO game for a long time now, however the techniques that worked 3 years ago no longer work as well today and some not at all. You see Google are in a constant battle with spam and therefore their algorithm has to develop to take this into account. Do Google still suffer with spam attacks? Of course but in my opinion they are getting better and better.

It is no longer good enough to generate thousands of site wide links on sites such as your friends blogs, in fact evidence recently collected has shown Google giving very little credit to site wide links and links in footers, instead they are preferring links given in the general flow of content. Google sees these types of links as more beneficial as they are more likely to be editorially given.

So the big question is how do we go about getting these strong editorial links? Well the first option is the old Matt Cutts method, create great content or a great resource and the links will come. This is too simplistic and any good SEO knows that more is needed to rank for competitive terms. Blog carnivals are another great option, a link in the body of the content, anchored with your choice of keywords, great.

However, there is a method that is becoming increasingly popular and is one hundred percent white hat, this means it is fully in line with Googles guidelines and in fact has been around a while. You simply look for blogs that are relevant to your site, email the webmaster and offer to write some unique content in return for link back to your site with the anchor text of your choice.

This is a great way of link building and acts very much in the same way as guest posting. You get an optimised piece of content on a relevant domain with an anchor text of your choice in the middle of the body content. This is editorial and it is pretty much natural, a link for content. In my opinion getting links in the content of other articles and blogs is one of the best ways to link build and if you create a page for a popular blog not only will you get a great link but you will also benefit from some targeted traffic.

So when it comes to building links forget about high PR pages or site wide links, instead be thinking about natural looking links with real editorial value. This is sure to increase rank for your chosen keywords within Google and drive more qualified traffic to your pages.

SEO Consultant - What Can You Expect From A SEO Consultant

For some people, they do not know what to expect from a SEO consultant. In most cases, clients always expect more than what can be done in the given timeframe and budget. For many SEO consultants, they always face a dilemma when facing clients. Some consultants will try to overpromise in order to get the deal and under-deliver by the end of the project. On the other hand, there are consultants who always undersell and over-deliver in the end. Unfortunately, when the consultant undersells in the beginning, he or she will have difficulty getting the deal most of the time because most clients have unrealistic expectations.

The tricky part about SEO is that most of the benchmarks are not under the control of the SEO consultant. Benchmarks like traffic, enquiries and sales vary depending on many factors. I think it will be useful for you to understand what NOT to expect from a SEO consultant.

1. Never expect guaranteed rankings. Many people who are interested in SEO want guaranteed rankings for certain keywords in a certain timeframe for a certain price. Unfortunately, no one can guarantee you a certain ranking for a keyword. Rankings should not be used as a benchmark because it is subject to the algorithms of the search engines. Search engines change their algorithms every now and then so it is just impossible for someone to guarantee you a certain ranking for a certain keyword.

2. Never expect the cost of SEO to remain the same overtime. This is because most SEO consultants charge according to the amount of work that needs to be done. When rankings and competition changes, so does the cost of the SEO package. The cost of SEO is likely to increase to accommodate more competitive keywords.

3. Never expect SEO to be a one-time project. SEO is a continuous process as link building needs to be undertaken from time to time. When you change the layout or add new content to your website, you need to optimize it. Most clients expect SEO to be a one-time project. This is simply impossible.

4. Never expect to see quick results from SEO. If you want to see an increased in organic traffic to your website in one day, it is simply not possible. SEO takes time to take effect before you can get any ROI from it. So be patient and do not give your SEO consultant an impossible timeframe to deliver the ROIs.

A Checklist For SEO and Website Traffic

Sometimes the novice webmaster needs a step by step guide to the basics of SEO. The beast known as search engine optimization may be too much for a beginner to understand in the first days and months of building and promotion. This checklist includes everything the beginner needs to know about SEO for their new website.

* Start a website built on value. The visitor wants to buy your product or service but you have to convince them why they NEED it with great product information.

* Use keywords early. The primary keyword (s) for a website should be used within the first 25 words of every article. The remaining instances need to be spread out with one in the closing paragraph.

* Use only targeted keywords. The keywords you use will be indexed by search engines. The search engines are where the majority of your traffic will originate. The reader wants to find content, products and services that embody that keyword.

* Simple website designs are the best. The reader does not want to be overcome with angst when they hit your front page. Too much movement and clutter can have the same effect as rush hour traffic. Simple is better.

* Build your website with quality depth. The more content on your website about your product or service the better. With each new page, make sure to bookmark and submit that page specific URL to search engine and directories.

* Check out your competitors. Doing a search for your keyword and checking out each of the websites ranked about you on the search engine rankings page is essential to success. These websites are doing something better than you, so find out what it is. How old is their website? How many backlinks do they have? What is their keyword density per article? These facts can all help you build your site.

* Site analytics are the key to understanding your visitor. Website analytics break down the incoming traffic stats for every website. These stats can include the keyword used to visit the website, the country of origin and whether the hit was earned from a search engine or link. The most effective marketing campaigns will be built on these results.

* Give the visitor something for saying HELLO. Once the visitor hits your home page, what reason do they have to return? Free e-books, newsletters and coupons are all a great way to keep a visitor coming back for more.

* Expertise is crucial. Anyone can rewrite content on the Internet, but an expert can give that information a formal push. The more you know about your niche, the more the content will feel like it is coming from an expert. Give the reader something new and exciting to read and they will subscribe to your feed and come back for more.

* Integrate social networking tools. Social networking is the best way to get out the word about your website. With a SHARE type tool, the visitor can click one button and share your website with everyone on their friend list. This could mean more traffic and more money in your pocket.

Building a website right the first time will reduce the amount of time spent fixing build and marketing mistakes. This checklist is very simple and by no way includes all of the things you need to do to run an effective online business. But, following these tips will get your site off to the right start every time.
