Grinding practice is a large and diverse area of manufacturing and tool making. It can produce very fine finishes and very accurate dimensions, or in large production volume it can also roughen the surface of metal quite rapidly. A driving instructor is a car-driving trainer licensed and tested by the Driving Standards Agency. The candidate is also required to answer not lesser than 80 percent of the questions on each of the four bands. On the other hand, the passing mark for the so-called Hazard Perception Test is 57 out of the 75 questions. The passing rate of this field of examination is only 49 percent.

The second part of the test is intended to check the actual driving ability. This particular exam will last for over an hour. It covers various road types and conditions. The last part of the driving instructor exam is to test for the instructional ability. This exam usually lasts for over an hour. The time limit is broken into 2 phases. Again, the examiner will pretend to be a student of a test standard or a student who is not lucky enough to pass the license exam. The candidates must get a grade of four on each phase in order for them to pass. The passing rate for this part of the exam is 28 percent.

We have all heard of studies done that assert that students who include music as a part of their curriculum, get better grades in all of their other subjects, or that they have higher IQ’s or whatever. I do not have any unsubstantiated claims of that caliber, however, I will certainly agree that a person is better off with musical involvement than without. I will also suggest that some instruments are more beneficial than others.

For example, I played the Trombone from sixth grade up through my Junior year of High School. I do not have any regrets about the trombone itself, other that I have not touched my trombone in fourteen years. Fortunately I became involved in my high school choir and later university choir so that my musical education did not become extinct.

Maintaining musical advancement throughout life or at least our younger life is important for many reasons. First of all, it is incredibly fun. The majority of my memories from High School involve the fun times with my senior year madrigal choir. The same goes for my university days. At one point, I had to give up the formal university men’s choir, but was still involved for a couple more years in a private a’cappella group.

Another reason music is important, is music is something that we can feel. Becoming educated in music and becoming an accomplished musician ourselves, means that we must have experienced the emotion that comes with music. If you are not sure what I am talking about here, just thing of the last good movie you watched. Imagine what that movie would be like, with a different sound track, or without music all together. A hair raising suspenseful scene is suddenly not that intense. A sad story can get our sympathies, but when combined with the right music, can bring floods from our eyes.

I propose that there are a few core instruments that are the best, simply because of the likelihood that a talent in such instrument will be utilized throughout your life. The obvious ones are the piano, an acoustic or electric guitar, the violin, and obviously, the voice. Other instruments are great as a secondary instrument to one of the above mentioned.

This will obviously differ from culture to culture, but think about all the weird looks I would get if I broke out my trombone and started tooting in my back yard. Compare that thought with an acoustic guitar or violin played with precision. What would you be more likely to listen to on your stereo?
